More late summer fun......

Visitors here......

It evens does cool tricks! We made it into one giant bed and had some family fun with popcorn and a movie.

Some dinosaurs and such were on display at a casino before going to auction so we had to take Nathan to see 'Rexie'.
Here is a Wooly Mammoth.

My favorite piece.....I couldn't convince Robert to spend the 30 to 50 thousand dollars this would go for in auction so I could hang it in my living room.
It is a fossilized palm frond.....not an imprint...that's what makes it so rare and cool!

Trip to Maryland...

I got worn out of blogging for a while so I have been slacking off.....but, now I am ready to catch up...
So, back to the end of August we go for the most eventful...event of the summer!
I made the trip to Maryland to visit my sister with my kids....all by myself!
(See why I was worn out! What was I thinking??)

The kids had their first airplane ride....and maybe their last! I have learned my lesson....I won't ever be traveling solo with my kids again! That was exhausting!

On Nathan's 2nd airplane ride he fell right to sleep!

On Laila's 2nd airplane ride she was lucky enough to have her own seat....on my lap or in her own seat, it didn't matter.....I was always the unlucky one...because I had the 'mega-monster' for a traveling buddy!

Finally, at the cousin's house! Getting to use his imagination doing a fun craft...

Jenna's imagination runs wild and she really gets into her art!

I got spoiled the whole time with homemade treats courtesy of my sister....You have no idea how good this cake is.....that is chocolate mousse for a filling...and warm ganache poured over the cake.
It's pretty much the best cake EVER!

We got to have dinner with some of my extended family that I haven't seen in years!

To travel anywhere was about 40 minutes and all of the roads looked like this.....2 lanes...1 each direction....
Seriously, where are the freeways around here?!?
By the way, it looks all green and nice, but you can't tell in the picture how miserably hot and humid it is.....how does one get used to that? I was dying! I'll take the dry desert over humidity any day, thankyouverymuch!

I got to meet a sea monster...okay, not really a monster! A sea horse! Isn't it so cute? This was the highlight of my trip....these are the coolest little creatures around!

Don't be alarmed, it's only in the sump pump room in the basement...whatever that is. Doesn't it look like something you'd eat on Fear Factor?!? It's called a house centipede...and he is one monster we did not enjoy meeting on our trip!
